Court denies Google’s fully execution of motion on Tsargrad suit
MOSCOW, May 13 (PRIME) -- The Moscow Arbitration Court has refused to accept as fulfilled entirely the decision on TV channel Tsargrad against Google’s units to unblock the YouTube channel and resume monetization, law firm Art De Lex partner Artur Zurabyan, who represents Tsargrad at court, told PRIME on Friday.
The court rejected the application of OOO Google, a Russian unit of the U.S. company, contesting the ruling of the bailiffs who denied to satisfy the plea on termination of the enforcement.
The arbitration courts of three instances obliged Google, Google Ireland Ltd., and OOO Google under the lawsuit of Tsargrad to restore access to the blocked YouTube channel and monetization or pay a progressively rising fine in case of misbehavior. The bailiffs have already remitted 1 billion rubles to Tsargrad.
Google blocked the TV channel’s YouTube account in 2020 and explained the move by the sanctions slapped by the U.S. and the E.U. in 2014 against Tsargrad’s beneficiary Konstantin Malofeyev for Ukraine.
